Eldrun

Eldrun is a fictional town in the northern Valmere region, featured in fantasy literature and world-building material. It sits on the eastern foothills of the Silvercrest Range, near the confluence of the Eldrunsford and Lerrin rivers. The terrain is described as mixed forest and pasture.

The settlement arose in the mid-12th century when migrating communities established a fortified outpost to guard timber routes. A hilltop fortress, Eldrun Keep, became the political and military heart of the town, and the name Eldrun entered local usage.

Eldrun operates with a mayor and town council elected for four-year terms. It is part of the Valmere Province and falls under regional judicial and administrative structures of the realm.

The local economy centers on agriculture (grains and fruit), timber from surrounding forests, and artisanal crafts such as pottery and leatherwork. A weekly market serves nearby villages, and a river ferry connects to markets downstream.

As of the latest edition of the accompanying lore, the population is roughly 2,800 residents. The community is predominantly Valmeric-speaking, with small accents of river and forest dialects. Annual festivals celebrate harvest and river lore.

Notable sites include the ruins of Eldrun Keep, the Old Bridge over the Lerrin, and the White Courtyard. The town supports a small primary school and a cultural hall used for performances and meetings.
