Elberton

Elberton is a city in Elbert County, Georgia, United States. It is the county seat of Elbert County. Elberton is located in the northeastern part of Georgia, approximately 100 miles east of Atlanta. The city is known as the "Granite Capital of the World" due to its extensive granite quarries and the presence of numerous granite processing plants.

The area was settled in the late 18th century, and Elberton was incorporated in 1807. The city's economy has historically been tied to agriculture and, more significantly, to its granite industry.
