Elanyagok

Elanyagok are materials that serve as inputs to a manufacturing process and are consumed or transformed during production. They are inputs that do not simply become a finished product unchanged; in many cases they become part of the product in altered form. The term is sometimes used interchangeably with előanyagok, though exact usage varies by industry.

Elanyagok can be broadly categorized into nyersanyagok (raw materials) that become part of the finished product, félkészanyagok (semi-finished products) that require further processing, and segédanyagok (auxiliary materials) such as lubricants, solvents, or process aids that facilitate production and are typically consumed. In some sectors, packaging materials may also be classified as elanyagok if they accompany the product throughout production, while in others they are treated separately.

Managing elanyagok involves procurement, quality control, and traceability. Companies track supplier performance, maintain inventory, and record lot numbers to support recalls and regulatory compliance. Data on elanyagok supports cost accounting, process optimization, and sustainability reporting.

Examples include steelmaking using iron ore and coke as elanyagok; plastics production relying on monomers such as ethylene; and various catalysts, solvents, and additives used as process-related elanyagok.
