Ekosistemo

An ekosistemo is a complex network of living organisms interacting with each other and their physical environment. These interactions create a dynamic and self-sustaining system. The living components, known as biotic factors, include all plants, animals, fungi, and microorganisms. The non-living components, or abiotic factors, encompass elements like sunlight, water, soil, temperature, and air. The structure of an ekosistemo is characterized by the flow of energy and the cycling of nutrients. Energy typically enters the system through producers, such as plants, which convert sunlight into usable energy through photosynthesis. This energy is then transferred to consumers when they eat producers or other consumers. Decomposers, like bacteria and fungi, play a crucial role in breaking down dead organic matter, returning essential nutrients to the soil and water, making them available for producers to use again. This continuous cycle is vital for the long-term health and stability of the ekosistemo.

Each type of ekosistemo has unique characteristics and supports specific types of life adapted to its particular conditions.
