Einschragende

Einschragende is a German term that translates to "slanted" or "inclined" in English. It is commonly used to describe the orientation of objects or surfaces that are not perfectly horizontal or vertical. This can apply to a wide range of contexts, from architectural features to graphical elements.

In architecture, an einschragende wall or roof might be intentionally designed for aesthetic or structural reasons. For instance, a mansard roof features steeply sloped upper sections, creating an overall inclined profile. In a more general sense, any building component that deviates from a right angle to the ground could be described as einschragende.

In graphic design and typography, the term can refer to an italicized font. Italic type is characterized by its slanted appearance, which is often used to emphasize words or phrases, or to denote titles of works.
