Eeyore

Eeyore is a fictional character in A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh stories. He is a grey donkey who lives in the Hundred Acre Wood with friends Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit, Owl, and others. Eeyore is notable for his melancholy outlook and low, monotone voice, which contrasts with the more energetic characters. He tends to expect the worst and speaks in a subdued, slightly sarcastic manner, although he is loyal and cooperative when friends need help. His outlook is often described as mournful or dreary, yet he remains thoughtful and kind.

In the stories, Eeyore's tail is attached to him with a nail or pin and is sometimes missing, which leads to the running gag of his tail being replaced. In many Disney adaptations, Eeyore is depicted as blue-gray with a pink bow on his tail, retaining the same temperament.

Eeyore first appeared in the 1926 book Winnie-the-Pooh and again in The House at Pooh Corner (1928). The character has been adapted in numerous animated features, television series, and stage productions. He has become a widely recognized symbol of gloom and deadpan humor in children's literature and popular culture, while remaining a trusted friend to Pooh and the other residents of the Hundred Acre Wood.
