EdomiteJewish is not a standard term in mainstream scholarship, but may appear in discussions that address the historical relationship between Edomites and Jewish communities or in fringe theories about lineage. The term can denote either the ancient Edomites, whose homeland (Idumea) lay southeast of the Dead Sea, or later interpretations of how Edom and Jewish groups interacted over time.

Historically, Edomites traced their origin to Esau, and their territory neighbored ancient Israel. In the biblical and postbiblical record, Edom and Israel had periods of conflict and interaction. In the 2nd century BCE, the Hasmonean ruler John Hyrcanus I compelled many Idumeans to convert to Judaism, integrating them into Judean society. By the early centuries CE, Edom as a distinct ethnonym largely faded, with Edomite communities absorbed into broader Jewish populations; the Herodian dynasty is often cited as having Edomite ancestry. In later Jewish and Christian writings, Edom can also function as a symbolic or prophetic figure rather than a strictly geographic identity.

In modern discourse, some fringe theories claim an Edomite origin or influence within Judaism. These claims are generally rejected by historians and are considered part of antisemitic or pseudohistorical narratives. Scholarly work typically discusses Edomites, Idumea, and historical conversions in their own right, rather than as a separate or essential “EdomiteJewish” lineage. The term remains obscure outside limited or nonacademic contexts.
