ETAmiah

ETAmiah is a collaborative art project and performance duo consisting of artists Etienne de Villiers and Amiah Simiyu. The duo explores themes of identity, cultural hybridity, and digital existence through a multidisciplinary approach. Their work often incorporates elements of video, sound, sculpture, and live performance, blending traditional artistic mediums with contemporary technology.

De Villiers, originally from South Africa, brings a background in visual arts and digital media. Simiyu, who has Kenyan and British heritage, contributes expertise in performance art and cultural studies. Their collaboration began in 2020, stemming from a shared interest in the intersections of personal narratives and broader societal constructs.

ETAmiah's performances are characterized by their immersive and often interactive nature, inviting audiences to engage with the concepts presented. They have exhibited and performed internationally, with notable presentations at galleries and festivals focused on new media and experimental art.
