ERPyhteistyö refers to collaborative activities among organizations to coordinate their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The aim is to align business processes, data models, and system architectures across entities to improve efficiency, interoperability, and governance.

Participants include large enterprises, small and medium-sized companies, public sector bodies, system integrators, ERP vendors, and industry associations. Collaboration can take the form of joint procurement, shared platforms or data centers, common data standards, and established governance structures such as joint steering committees and data-sharing agreements.

Key elements are a common data model and process harmonization, interoperable interfaces (APIs), data governance and security, regulatory compliance (for example GDPR in the EU), and continuous change management. The approach emphasizes openness, modular architectures, and scalable deployment.

Benefits include reduced duplicated effort, lower total cost of ownership, consistent reporting, easier cross-border operations, and faster time-to-value. Risks involve data privacy and security concerns, vendor lock-in, coordination overhead, legal complexity of data sharing, and misalignment of business requirements.

Implementation considerations include conducting a readiness assessment, defining a pilots program, establishing legal agreements (MOUs, data-sharing agreements), selecting interoperable standards, and planning phased rollouts. Success metrics may cover data quality, time-to-value, system uptime, and user adoption.

Examples of ERPyhteistyö include collaboration between municipal organizations to share an ERP for procurement and finance, cross-company supply chain integrations, and public–private partnerships for shared ERP platforms.
