EPAL, or Europaletten-Austauschsystem, refers to a standardized system for the exchange of wooden pallets, primarily in Europe. The EPAL pallet is a specific type of four-way entry pallet designed for durability, ease of handling, and efficient logistics. These pallets are manufactured to strict quality standards and are often marked with the EPAL trademark.

The EPAL system promotes a circular economy by enabling pallets to be reused multiple times. When a company receives goods on an EPAL pallet, they can exchange it for a repaired or new EPAL pallet at designated exchange points. This process reduces waste and the need for new pallet production. The standardized dimensions of EPAL pallets, typically 800x1200 mm (Euro pallet size), ensure compatibility with most handling equipment and storage systems across various industries.
