ENszabvány

ENszabvány is a term that refers to European Standards, abbreviated as EN. These standards are developed by three officially recognized European standardization organizations: CEN (European Committee for Standardization), CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization), and ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute). They aim to create a unified set of technical specifications and requirements for products, services, and processes across Europe.

The primary purpose of ENszabvány is to facilitate the free movement of goods and services within the European Economic Area (EEA). By establishing common standards, it eliminates technical barriers to trade, ensuring that products manufactured in one member state can be sold and used in another without needing to comply with different national regulations. This harmonization promotes competition, enhances consumer safety, and supports innovation.

ENszabvány cover a vast range of sectors, including machinery, electrical equipment, construction materials, environmental protection, and information technology. The development process involves consultation with various stakeholders, including industry, governments, consumer groups, and other interested parties. Once adopted, member countries are obligated to implement ENszabvány as national standards, often by withdrawing any conflicting national standards. This widespread adoption ensures a consistent level of quality, safety, and interoperability throughout Europe.
