EHBOposten

Location and operations: EHBOposten are typically placed in easily accessible, well-signed areas, with multiple posts at larger facilities or events. They are coordinated with security, facilities management, and emergency services. In emergencies, the post may triage, communicate with 112 (the emergency number in the Netherlands and several other countries), and coordinate transport to care.

Staffing and training: Posts are staffed by individuals with valid first aid certification (EHBO) and regularly updated through refresher courses. The required number of staff depends on risk assessment, occupancy, and activity.

Equipment and supplies: A standard post includes a basic first aid kit, disposable gloves, antiseptics, dressings, bandages, and instruction sheets. Depending on risk, an AED or stretcher may be available.

Procedures and records: Responders follow established protocols, perform primary assessment, provide care within their scope, ensure safety, and call emergency services when needed. Incidents are logged to support accountability and regulatory compliance.

Legal and standards: Regulations vary by country and sector. In the Netherlands, first aid provisions are guided by the Arbowet (Working Conditions Act) and related guidelines, with requirements based on risk assessment.
