Däckkroppen

Däckkroppen, often translated as "tire carcass" or "tire body," refers to the fundamental structural component of a pneumatic tire. It is the internal framework that gives the tire its shape, strength, and ability to withstand the forces of rotation, load, and deformation encountered during operation.

The däckkroppen is typically constructed from layers of reinforcing materials embedded within a rubber matrix. The primary reinforcing materials are usually cords made from steel, polyester, nylon, or rayon. These cords are arranged in specific patterns, such as bias-ply or radial, which significantly influence the tire's performance characteristics. In radial tires, the cords run radially across the tire from bead to bead, while in bias-ply tires, they are laid diagonally in alternating layers.
