Dávkian refers to a historical and contemporary ethnolinguistic grouping in the central Verdan highland region, comprising several interrelated clans and their language. The term is used by scholars and insiders to describe people, language, and cultural practices in that area.

The name Dávkian is thought to derive from the toponym Dávka, a major valley in their homeland. The root may be linked to an older verb meaning "to weave" or "to flow," reflected in traditional crafts and river-based settlement patterns.

They inhabit the Dávka Basin, particularly around the city of Khurn. The population is estimated at around 120,000, with dense villages in valleys and terraces, and smaller pockets in neighboring plains.
