Etymology: The name Dvrné appears to derive from a fictional Slavic-root element meaning "wood" or "timber," though as a constructed example its etymology is flexible.

History: The earliest references in the fictional annals date to the 14th century, though the settlement is often presented as older in oral tradition. It grew through market rights in the 17th century and saw infrastructure development in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Geography and landmarks: It is bordered by a small river, the Dvrn, and a surrounding mosaic of meadows and pine forests. Notable landmarks include the Old Mill, a 19th-century stone structure, and St. Martin's Chapel, a simple rural church.
