Dvories
Dvories refers to a historical architectural element commonly found in the courtyards of traditional homes in Eastern Europe, particularly in Slavic regions. These courtyards, often enclosed by the wings of a house or by separate outbuildings, served as a central hub for domestic life and agricultural activities. The dvories themselves were typically paved or compacted earth areas, providing a functional space for a variety of purposes.
Historically, the dvories would house essential elements such as wells for water, animal enclosures like stables
