Durlabhavardhana is a relatively obscure figure mentioned in a small number of medieval Indian sources as a ruler associated with the Pushyabhaya dynasty, linked to the city of Thanesar in present-day Haryana. The precision of his identity and reign is uncertain, and there is no broad consensus among historians about his exact status or chronology.

Historical attestation for Durlabhavardhana is limited. He appears primarily in later dynastic lists and literary genealogies rather than in contemporaneous inscriptions or coins. Because of this paucity of contemporary evidence, scholars debate whether he was a historically verifiable king, a legendary figure, or a mistaken transmission in the tradition surrounding the dynasty that culminates in Harshavardhana.

In relation to Harshavardhana, Durlabhavardhana is sometimes positioned as an early member of the same lineage or as a predecessor within the dynastic narrative that leads to Harsha’s rise to power.
