DuplexDruck

Duplexdruck, known in English as double-sided or duplex printing, is the process of printing on both sides of a single sheet of paper. This method reduces paper consumption by half compared to single-sided printing, also known as simplex printing. The capability is a standard feature in many modern printers and multifunction devices.

Duplex printing can be performed manually or automatically. In manual duplex, the user prints on one side of the paper, then manually flips the stack and reloads it to print the reverse side. Automatic duplex printing is handled by the printer itself, which uses an internal mechanism to flip each sheet of paper. This automated process is more efficient and requires no user intervention.

The primary advantage of duplex printing is the significant reduction in paper usage, leading to lower costs and a smaller environmental impact. It also allows for the creation of more compact and professional-looking documents, such as reports, brochures, and booklets. This saves on storage space and reduces shipping weight and postage for items sent by mail. For these reasons, duplex printing is a widely adopted feature in both office and home printing environments.
