Dunaje, also known as the Danube in English, is a major European river and the continent’s second-longest, with a length of about 2,860 kilometers (1,778 miles). It rises in the Black Forest of Germany from the confluence of the Brigach and Breg near Donaueschingen and flows southeast across Central and Eastern Europe to the Black Sea.
