Duluth
Duluth is a port city in northeastern Minnesota, United States. It lies on the north shore of Lake Superior at the western end of the Great Lakes. It is the county seat of St. Louis County and the largest city in the region. The population was about 85,000 in 2020. The area has been inhabited by the Ojibwe and other Indigenous peoples for centuries; European settlement began in the mid-19th century, and Duluth developed as a major port for iron ore shipped from the Mesabi and Vermilion ranges. The ore docks on the waterfront are a historic feature of the city and form part of the Port of Duluth–Superior, one of North America's largest lake-freight port complexes.
