Dravnic is a fictional mineral central to several speculative fictions and tabletop role-playing settings. It is described as a rare silicate-aluminate with a combination of electrical conductivity, luminescence, and chemical stability that makes it valuable for advanced technologies within those narratives.

Etymology and naming: The term derives from the Dravnic Belt, a geologic province in the setting where the mineral was first documented by field researchers in the early 22nd century. The name is used for both the mineral and the deposits associated with the belt.

Properties: Dravnic is described as having a complex crystalline structure with magnesium and iron as major cations and trace titanium and boron. It ranges in color from pale blue to azure and exhibits weak fluorescence under ultraviolet light. The mineral is said to resist high temperatures and chemical attack, contributing to its appeal for high-performance applications. Typical hardness is described as Mohs 7–7.5.

Occurrence and geology: In the fictional geography, Dravnic occurs primarily in hydrothermal veins within high-grade metamorphic rocks of the Dravnic Belt. Crystals are usually prismatic and reach up to several centimeters in length. The belt hosts multiple ore bodies and is the focus of in-world mining operations.

Discovery and history: The mineral was first documented by the expedition led by geologist Mina Rho in 2124. Subsequent drilling campaigns and sample analyses defined several distinct deposits and led to standardized in-world classification of Dravnic varieties.

Uses and regulation: In the stories, Dravnic is used in energy storage devices, superconductive ceramic composites, and precision optical components. Its rarity and the environmental impact of mining have prompted in-fiction regulatory regimes and, in some settings, research into synthetic or lab-grown analogs.
