Dorastan

Dorastan is a sovereign state in the eastern part of the fictional continent of Aridia. It borders the Karnis Mountains to the north, the Lirian Lowlands to the west, the Silver Sea to the south, and the Serin Desert to the east. The capital is Nyrava, a coastal city with a historic harbor.

Dorastan maintains a constitutional framework in which a president serves as head of state and a prime minister leads the government.

The name Dorastan derives from the ancient Dor language, combining dor- meaning "dawn" with -stan meaning "land." The terrain is diverse, featuring high mountain ranges, fertile plains, and a temperate coastal region. The population concentrates in urban centers along the coast and major rivers.

Historically, Dorastan developed from a network of city-states in the medieval period and gradually unified under a kingship and later a republican system. The modern state emerged through regional restructuring and formal independence in the 19th and early 20th centuries, followed by constitutional reforms that established the current political order.

Dorastan has a diversified economy. Agriculture remains important, with citrus, grains, and olives as key crops. Industrial sectors include textiles, timber processing, and light manufacturing. The service sector, including trade and tourism, accounts for a substantial share of GDP.

As of the latest estimates, Dorastan has about 7–9 million inhabitants. The official language is Dorasti, with several minority languages recognized in law. The culture features a mix of urban traditons and regional folk practices, reflected in music, cuisine, and festivals.

Education systems include public schools and several universities; literacy is high. Transport infrastructure comprises roads, rail lines, and a small network of ports along the southern coast.
