Doménregisztráció is the Hungarian term for domain name registration. It is the process by which an individual or organization secures the right to use a specific domain name on the internet. This domain name, such as example.com, serves as a unique address for a website or online presence.

The registration process typically involves choosing a desired domain name and checking its availability. If the name is not already taken, it can be registered through an accredited domain registrar. These registrars are authorized companies that manage domain name assignments on behalf of domain registries, which are the organizations responsible for overseeing specific top-level domains (TLDs) like .hu or .com.

When registering a domain, the applicant agrees to certain terms and conditions, which usually include providing accurate contact information. This information is often made publicly available through the WHOIS database, although privacy services can sometimes be used to obscure personal details. Domain names are typically registered for a fixed period, ranging from one to ten years, and require renewal to maintain ownership.
