Dolgozóinak

Dolgozóinak is a Hungarian grammatical form derived from the noun dolgozó (worker or employee) with a third-person plural possessive suffix. It expresses ownership or relation to a group of people described as “their” workers. In practice, it is used to refer to the employees of some subject (for example a company, an organization, or a government body) in genitive or possessive constructions.

Morphology and usage notes:

The form combines the base word for worker with a suffix typical of third-person plural possession (and related case endings), resulting in a word that means “their workers” or “the workers belonging to them.” It commonly appears in noun phrases that describe something of the workers owned or controlled by a group, such as a company, a state, or an institution. Because Hungarian possessive and case endings vary with vowel harmony and the grammatical role in the sentence, there are related forms (for example with different possessors or cases) that function similarly in other contexts.

- A vállalat dolgozóinak egészsége kiemelt prioritás. (The health of the company’s employees is a priority.)

- A szakszervezet dolgozóinak jogaival foglalkozó párbeszéd folytatódik. (Dialogue concerning the workers’ rights of the union’s members continues.)

- A kormány dolgozóinak juttatásait vizsgálják. (The government’s employees’ benefits are being reviewed.)
