Doktorierende is a German term that refers to individuals who are pursuing a doctorate degree. In German-speaking countries, the process of earning a doctorate is often referred to as Promotion.

Doktorierende are usually expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of their chosen subject matter, contribute new knowledge through their research, and present their findings in a doctoral thesis.
