Dkerros

Dkerros is a fictional coastal city in the Ardentian Federation, located on the northern shore of the Doral Sea. It functions as a regional economic and cultural center and is administered as the capital of the Dkerros District. The population is about 180,000.

The name is believed to derive from the Ardentine word for harbor, though other explanations link it to ancient local clans. The spelling Dkerros has been in use since the medieval period.

Dkerros sits on a natural harbor backed by low hills. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters, cool summers, and annual rainfall around 700 millimeters.

Founded as a trading post in the 12th century, Dkerros grew through maritime commerce and guilds. It joined the Ardentian Federation after the mid-20th century, expanding its university, port facilities, and industrial base in subsequent decades.

Its economy is diversified: port and logistics, light manufacturing, finance, and services. Tourism and research drive growth, while offshore wind projects have added energy-sector employment and coastal infrastructure.

Governed by a mayor-council system, Dkerros comprises several districts. The city maintains a multilingual culture, with Ardentine as the dominant language and communities speaking Kalin and English.
