Distribuïdes

Distribuïdes is not a standard entry in French dictionaries. In contemporary French, the correct feminine plural past participle of the verb distribuer is distribuées. The form distribuïdes does not appear in core grammar references and is generally regarded as an orthographic error or a nonce form rather than a recognized tense or adjective.

Origins and forms. Distribuer comes from the Latin distributuere, meaning to divide or apportion. In compound tenses with the auxiliary être or with avoir when there is a preceding direct object, the past participle agrees in gender and number with the subject or object as appropriate. The standard inflections are: distribué (m.sg), distribuée (f.sg), distribués (m.pl), distribuées (f.pl). The form distribuïdes would not align with established agreement patterns and is not standard French.

Usage notes. In normal usage, one would write phrases such as: Les ressources ont été distribuées (fem. pl subject). For a masculine plural subject: Les paquets ont été distribués. The feminine plural ending -es corresponds to a feminine plural subject; the masculine plural ending -s corresponds to a masculine plural subject. If a text shows distribuées with a diacritic or a nonstandard ligature like distribuïdes, it should be considered a typographical error or a nonstandard spelling.
