Displayauflösung refers to the number of distinct pixels that can be displayed in each dimension, width by height. It is typically expressed as a number of pixels. For example, a display with a resolution of 1920x1080 has 1920 pixels horizontally and 1080 pixels vertically. The total number of pixels on a screen is the product of its width and height resolutions. A higher resolution means more pixels, which can result in sharper images and more detail.

The resolution of a display is a crucial factor in its perceived quality. Higher resolutions allow for more information to be displayed on screen simultaneously without appearing cluttered. This is particularly important for tasks like reading text, viewing images, and playing video games.
