Diferenciálok

Diferenciálok refer to a concept in calculus that deals with infinitesimal changes. In essence, a differential is a small change in a variable. For a function y = f(x), the differential of x, denoted as dx, represents an infinitesimally small change in x. Similarly, the differential of y, denoted as dy, represents the corresponding infinitesimal change in y. These differentials are intimately related to the derivative of the function.

The derivative of a function, dy/dx, represents the instantaneous rate of change of y with respect to x. In terms of differentials, the derivative can be interpreted as the ratio of these infinitesimal changes: dy/dx = f'(x). This relationship allows us to express the change in y (dy) in terms of the change in x (dx) and the derivative: dy = f'(x) dx. This formula is fundamental in approximating the change in a function for small changes in its input.
