Dhammazedi
Dhammazedi was a king of the Hanthawaddy Kingdom in Burma (present-day Myanmar). He reigned from 1471 to 1492. Dhammazedi is primarily remembered for his strong patronage of Theravada Buddhism and his efforts to purify the Sangha, the Buddhist monastic community. He commissioned the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon and is credited with contributing significantly to the architectural grandeur of the site.
