Dezimalformen

Dezimalformen, also known as decimal representations, are a way of expressing numbers using a base-ten system. This system utilizes digits from 0 to 9 and a decimal point to separate the whole number part from the fractional part. Each position to the right of the decimal point represents a decreasing power of 10, such as tenths, hundredths, thousandths, and so on. For example, the number 3.14159 means three whole units, plus one-tenth, plus four-hundredths, plus one-thousandth, and so forth.

Dezimalformen are fundamental in mathematics and everyday life. They allow for precise representation of fractions and are used in measurements, financial calculations, and scientific notation. Numbers can have terminating decimal forms, like 0.5 or 1.25, where the digits after the decimal point eventually end. Other numbers have non-terminating or repeating decimal forms, such as 1/3 which is 0.333... or pi which is 3.14159... and continues infinitely without repeating in a predictable pattern.
