Deutz

Deutz is a district of the city of Cologne, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It lies on the eastern bank of the Rhine opposite Cologne’s historic Altstadt (old town) and forms part of the city’s urban core. The area historically existed as a separate town and developed as a transport and commercial hub along the Rhine. It was incorporated into Cologne in the late 19th century, and its subsequent development intensified with industrial growth and rail connections.

Today Deutz is known for its transport links and major event facilities. The district hosts the Koelnmesse

Deutz functions as a mixed-use area with residential neighborhoods, offices, and light industry alongside the large
