Deurnummer

Deurnummer, also known as Dienstnummer, is a unique identification number assigned to government employees in the Netherlands. The deurnummer is used to identify an employee within their department or ministry, and is often used for internal purposes. It typically consists of a combination of letters and numbers, and is usually displayed on an employee's business card or ID card.

The deurnummer was first introduced in the early 20th century, and has undergone several changes over the years. Today, the deurnummer is used by various government departments and ministries, including the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Royal Netherlands Mint.

The main purpose of the deurnummer is administrative in nature. It allows government employees to be easily identified and contacted within the organization. Additionally, the deurnummer is often required for internal communication and paperwork within the government.

It should be noted that the deurnummer system has been mainly used for internal administration purposes. External parties do not need to know the deurnummer of a government employee.
