Dessender
Dessender is a small municipality situated in the western part of the region of Valdés within the province of Calibre. The settlement was founded in the early 12th century, originally as a strategic waypoint on a trade route that connected the inland provinces with the coastal city of Sevilla. The town’s name is derived from the Latin word *deessere*, meaning “to descend,” a reference to its location at the foot of the surrounding hills.
