Depositionstakt

Depositionstakt is a German-language term used in manufacturing and materials processing to describe the rhythm, cycle time or rate at which material is deposited onto a substrate. It is applied in several technologies including welding and cladding, thermal spraying, chemical and physical vapor deposition, and layer-by-layer additive manufacturing. The term can refer either to a time-based frequency (cycles per minute) or to a mass/volume deposited per unit time, depending on the context.

Practical relevance lies in productivity and product quality. A higher depositionstakt increases throughput but can affect layer adhesion, porosity, residual stresses and microstructure; a lower takt may improve surface finish and control but reduce output. Process parameters that influence depositionstakt include feed rate of consumables or precursors, energy input (e.g., current, laser power, plasma intensity), relative motion between source and substrate, temperature, and equipment design.
