Dempningsgrad

Dempningsgrad, also known as damping ratio, is a dimensionless measure describing how oscillations in a system decay after a disturbance. It is a critical parameter in the analysis and design of dynamic systems, such as mechanical, electrical, and control systems. The damping ratio is defined as the ratio of the damping coefficient to the critical damping coefficient, which is the minimum damping required to prevent oscillations.

A damping ratio of zero indicates undamped oscillations, while a damping ratio of one corresponds to critical damping, where the system returns to equilibrium as quickly as possible without oscillating.
