Delusionand

Delusionand is not an established term in psychiatry or psychology. It may occur as a neologism or a fictional concept used to discuss the interplay between delusional thinking and other cognitive or social processes. When used, it often signals an interest in how belief formation, emotion, memory, and social environment shape or sustain delusions, or how narrative framing affects perception of beliefs.

In clinical terms, a delusion is a fixed, false belief held with conviction despite clear evidence to the contrary and inconsistent with the person’s cultural background. Delusions are a hallmark of psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, delusional disorder, and certain mood disorders with psychotic features. They can vary in content, seriousness, and level of insight, and they may impair functioning.

If used as a theoretical concept, delusionand might refer to the intersection of delusional processes with cognitive biases (e.g., confirmatory bias, theory of mind), memory distortions, and affective states. In literary or rhetorical contexts, the term could describe narrative devices that blur the boundary between belief and reality, or illuminate the experience of living with persistent false beliefs.

Diagnosis and treatment do not rely on the term delusionand; standard clinical practice uses established criteria for delusions and related disorders. Treatments include antipsychotic medication, psychoeducation, cognitive-behavioral therapy for psychosis (CBTp), and psychosocial supports.
