The terrain varies from volcanic highlands to coral-fringed shores, and the climate is diverse, ranging from tropical coastal zones to cooler highland valleys.

The capital city is Loris, situated on the central island, and the largest urban center is Porta, a major hub for commerce and shipping. The population is about 1.3 million. The official language is Deliocan, with a widely used trade lingua franca called Tarin. Deliocan culture is multilingual and multilingualism is common. The government is a constitutional republic with a president and unicameral legislature; regional councils administer island districts and natural resources.
