Deivayanai

Deivayanai is a prominent figure in Hindu mythology, particularly known from the epic Mahabharata and related Puranic texts. She is the adopted daughter of Lord Indra, the king of the gods, and the wife of Lord Kartikeya, also known as Murugan or Skanda, the god of war.

Her story often begins with her birth from the flower of a lotus, or sometimes from the seed of Shiva that was carried by the wind. Lord Indra, finding her and recognizing her divine destiny, took her under his care and raised her. As she grew, she was destined to marry Kartikeya, who was born to defeat the demon Surapadman.

Deivayanai is often depicted as a beautiful and virtuous princess, embodying purity and devotion. Her marriage to Kartikeya is a significant event in the mythology, symbolizing the union of divine energies and the triumph of good over evil.
