Debreus

Debreus is a town and municipality in the valley of the Debre River, in the Veridia region's Northern Province. It covers about 24 square kilometers and has a population of around 8,000 people. The terrain is gently rolling, with farmland and pockets of woodland on the outskirts. The Debre River runs through the town, feeding a historic canal and a riverside park that are popular with residents and visitors.

Debreus first appears in records from the 12th century, centered on a parish church and a defensive structure. It developed as a regional trading stop and grew during the 18th and 19th centuries with textile production and milling. The arrival of the regional rail network in the late 19th century connected Debreus with larger markets, and postwar redevelopment shifted the economy toward services and light manufacturing.

The economy is mixed, with agriculture in the surrounding countryside, a small textile operation, light manufacturing, and local commerce.
