Deansgate-Castlefield is a ward of Manchester City Council in England and a historic district that lies immediately west of Manchester city centre. It encompasses two historically distinct areas: Deansgate, a busy commercial thoroughfare, and Castlefield, a canal-side district known for its Roman fort remains and early industrial heritage. The ward sits at the western edge of the city centre and is adjacent to Spinningfields and other central districts.

Castlefield contains the Castlefield Urban Heritage Park, the Bridgewater Canal and Rochdale Canal, and a collection of preserved industrial buildings. This area is often described as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, with waterways and rail infrastructure dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The Castlefield conservation area preserves much of its historic character, including canal basins, rail viaducts, and brick warehouses.

Key landmarks and facilities include the Beetham Tower (now Hilton Manchester Deansgate), the Manchester Central convention complex (formerly G-Mex), and the Museum of Science and Industry on nearby Liverpool Road. The area supports a mix of offices, apartments, bars and restaurants, and hosts the Castlefield Bowl, an outdoor venue used for concerts in the summer.

Transport is a major feature: Deansgate-Castlefield Metrolink station is a significant tram interchange. The ward is also within reach of Manchester Oxford Road railway station and other central rail links nearby.

In governance terms, Deansgate-Castlefield is a Manchester City Council ward electing three councillors. It forms part of the Manchester Central parliamentary constituency.
