Daugiaplanis

Daugiaplanis is a genus of ray-finned fish belonging to the family Synbranchidae, commonly known as glass eels or glass catfish. These fish are native to freshwater habitats in Southeast Asia, particularly in the Mekong River basin and the Chao Phraya River basin. Daugiaplanis species are characterized by their translucent bodies, which allow light to pass through, giving them a glass-like appearance. This adaptation is thought to help them blend into their surroundings, providing camouflage against predators and prey.

The genus includes several species, with Daugiaplanis hassi being one of the most well-known. These fish are known for their unique behavior, often being found in large schools during the day and moving to deeper waters at night.
