Dagkörljus
Dagkörljus, ofta översatt till daytime running lights (DRLs), are illuminated automatically during daytime while the vehicle is running. They are designed to increase the vehicle's conspicuity to other road users, reducing the likelihood of daylight collisions. DRLs are typically low-intensity lights located at the front of the vehicle and may use LED or halogen technology. They are separate from full headlights and generally do not illuminate the road ahead as far as headlights do; many systems switch to normal headlights when lighting conditions require more visibility or when the driver engages high beams.
DRLs operate automatically in most modern vehicles; some models allow drivers to disable them in the settings.
The adoption of DRLs varies by country. They have been promoted in Europe, North America, and elsewhere
In Swedish, the term dagkörljus refers to these daytime running lights, and they are a standard feature
