Dagittys

Dagittys are a fictional species native to the planet Xylos in the Andromeda galaxy. They are a sentient, bipedal race characterized by their elongated limbs and smooth, iridescent skin which can shift in color depending on their mood and environmental conditions. Dagittys possess a unique form of bioluminescence, used for communication and social signaling. Their average height is around 2.5 meters, and they have three fingers on each hand and two on each foot.

The Dagittys are known for their advanced understanding of organic technology and bio-engineering. They do not rely on traditional mechanical devices, instead cultivating living organisms to serve as tools, transportation, and even dwellings. Their society is structured around communal living and a deep respect for nature. They are a peaceful species, having never engaged in large-scale conflict.

Their primary diet consists of nutrient-rich fungi and genetically engineered algae, which they cultivate in subterranean caverns. Dagittys reproduce asexually through a process of budding, with offspring inheriting a genetic blend from multiple communal "parents." Their lifespan is exceptionally long, often exceeding several centuries.
