DL380

DL380 is a line of server computers in Hewlett-Packard's ProLiant family. Designed as 2U rack-mount servers, the DL380 has been produced across multiple generations beginning in the early 2000s and has been widely deployed in data centers for general-purpose and enterprise workloads. The model line is typically configured as dual-processor systems, offering substantial compute and memory capacity for virtualization, databases, and file services.

Common design features across generations include hot-swappable drive bays, redundant power supplies and cooling, and enterprise-grade storage options, together with scalable memory and PCIe expansion. Management is provided by Hewlett-Packard's Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) technology, enabling remote administration, firmware updates, and hardware monitoring without local access.

Over successive generations, the DL380 family has evolved with newer CPUs, memory standards, and I/O architectures, while maintaining the 2U rack-mount form factor. Variants have included improvements in processor performance, memory bandwidth, storage density, and energy efficiency. In the present, newer HP ProLiant successors have continued the lineage in features and performance, but the DL380 design remains part of historical deployments and HP documentation as a versatile 2U enterprise server option.
