DCATAPFI

It supports JSON-LD contexts for linked data, supports federated search, and defines profile levels to accommodate varying levels of maturity. Access control is aligned with standard OAuth 2.0 and API keys where applicable, with emphasis on privacy-preserving data sharing.

Governance and status: A governance body coordinates working groups focused on metadata modeling, API description, security, and adoption. DCATAPFI is typically described in multiple maturity stages, including drafts, candidate recommendations, and adopted profiles. Several pilot deployments exist in academic, government, and industry contexts to test interoperability and tooling.

Reception and impact: Proponents argue that DCATAPFI can reduce integration costs and improve data and API discoverability at scale, while critics point to complexity and variance in implementation.
