Cryotreatment, also known as cold treatment or cryotherapy, refers to the application of extreme cold for therapeutic or industrial purposes. In medicine, it encompasses procedures such as cryosurgery, where targeted freezing is used to destroy abnormal tissue, such as warts or tumors. Cryosurgery works by forming ice crystals within cells, causing physical damage and leading to cell death. Localized cryotherapy might involve applying a cold pack or spray to reduce inflammation and pain in an injured area.
