Crisaborole
Crisaborole is a topical medication used for the treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis, commonly known as eczema. It is a phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4) inhibitor, a class of drugs that work by reducing inflammation in the skin. PDE4 is an enzyme involved in the inflammatory pathways, and by inhibiting it, crisaborole helps to decrease the release of cytokines and other inflammatory mediators that contribute to the symptoms of eczema, such as itching and redness.
