Companulariidae is a family of soft corals belonging to the order Alcyonacea, commonly found in marine environments worldwide. These corals are characterized by their branching or bushy growth forms, often exhibiting vibrant colors such as reds, yellows, greens, and purples, which can vary depending on species and environmental conditions. They are typically sessile, meaning they remain attached to substrates like rocks, coral reefs, or the ocean floor throughout their lives.

The family includes both solitary and colonial species, with many forming dense clusters. Companulariids are known for their intricate internal structures, including polyps that can retract into the coral tissue for protection.
