Coarise

Coarise is a rarely used English verb meaning to arise together or to occur in conjunction with another event or condition. The form is typically found as co-arise or co-arising in stable usage, while the single-word spelling coarise is uncommon and often treated as nonstandard by dictionaries.

Etymology and usage: It is composed of the prefix co- meaning together and the verb arise. In modern writing, the hyphenated form co-arise is preferred when the sense is “to arise together with (something).”

Philosophical usage: In Buddhist philosophy, the related concept of co-arising (often written as co-arising or co-arisen) is central to the doctrine of dependent origination, pratītyasamutpāda. There, phenomena are said to co-arise because they arise from interdependent causes and conditions rather than in isolation. For example, craving and suffering are described as co-arising through conditional relations.
